Telangana State Resource Centre for Elimination of Child & Adolescent Labour (SRC), a wing of Labour department under Government of Telangana, has been instrumental in creating awareness in general public through several training programs on children’s rights and on the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Amendment Act 2016. SRC has established strategic partnerships with NGO networks, Civil Society Organisations, Educational Institutions and line department officials for effective enforcement of the laws that prevent children and minors from getting into labour situations.

In a recent development, Telangana SRC has also taken the initiative to train all the Public Prosecutors as an ongoing program in all districts, on the nuances of enforcing the laws that protect children and to strengthen the cases filed against the violators.
Apart from training, SRC is creating an awareness campaign by partnering with the NGO networks in the twin cities. Network for Protection of Child Rights (NPCR) is a consortium of NGOs based in Telangana working on children’s rights is spearheading the awareness campaign in the communities across the city. The program calendar highlights sensitisation campaigns, community meetings and rallies in various parts of the city. Apart from the community outreach, a sensitisation campaign is planned with college students at various colleges and public parks. As a part of convergence, Labour department officials will participate in the campaign alongside with the NGO partners.
